Was Prophet Mohammed a Robber?

Jim:  Prophet Mohamed was a bandit. He attacked innocent caravans and robbed their property in the Southwest of Medina.

John: You don't understand the definition of "rob", Jimmy. Rob doesn't mean "taking things from others". it means "taking things from others ILLEGALLY or UNLAWFULLY”. Meccans took the property of Muslims unlawfully. So it was lawful for Muslims to get their robbed property back. For example, let’s say a robber took your Smartphone away from you in the street at gunpoint yesterday. If you find that robber in the street tomorrow and take back your Smartphone from him at gunpoint, then it’s not robbery but justice.

Meccans (people of Mecca) robbed the property of Muslims & kicked them out of Mecca for accepting Islam. Then Meccans decided to sell the robbed property of Muslims to Syrians. So Meccans loaded caravans with robbed property of Muslims and started their journey to Syria.

The news reached Meccan Muslims in Medina who were previously robbed and kicked out of Mecca by Meccan pagans. Meccan companions of Prophet Mohamed who were robbed and kicked out of Mecca asked him for his permission to attack the caravans and get the robbed property back. Prophet Mohamed asked God whether he is allowed to permit his companions to retaliate. God reveled the following in response to Prophet Mohamed’s question: "Permission [to fight] has been given to those who are being fought, because they were wronged. And indeed, God is competent to give them victory" (Quran 22:39).

Prophet Mohamed asked of his Medinan companies to know their decision about whether to help their Meccan Muslim brothers to attack the caravans and getting the robbed property back. Prophet Mohamed’s Medinan companions replied-"We will not say to you as Jews said to Moses: “Go you and your Lord fight”. Instead we will fight on your right and on your left and in front of you and behind you." Upon hearing this, Prophet Muhamed’s face got bright with happiness.

God was pleased to hear this reply too. So God reveled the good news that he would reinforce Muslims with 1,000 angles ranks after ranks to fight thousands of Meccan soldiers who were guarding the caravans loaded with robbed property: "Remember when you called on your Lord for help and He responded to you: I will reinforce you with a thousand angels riding rank after rank" (Quran 8:9)

Thousands of Meccan soldiers equipped with advanced weaponries of that time confronted 313 Muslims. Muslims did not even have a sword for each of them, let alone any advanced weaponries. Moreover, Muslims didn’t have enough animals to ride on, so every two Muslims were sharing one camel back. But on the other hand, each of the thousands of soldiers was riding a horse by himself. Muslims were clearly outnumbered by infidels and had very few weaponries but they had full trust in God. Muslims were granted victory by God for not their numbers or weapons but their absolute trust in God. This battle is a historical proof of Prophet Mohamed’s prophethood.
